McLawland Farms

McLawland Farms is a small farm looking to provide a fun and educational opportunity for visitors to pick produce & flowers directly from the source.

They offer small group and private farm tours starting in April and offer seven varieties of blackberries with picking in late May through early July. You pick SUMMER flower sessions run June to August. FALL flower sessions are scheduled for October 1st – 24th. McLawland Farms can host private events on the farm both outdoors and indoors. From tours & flower pickings to campfires, s’mores & fishing. They even have a private modern farm suite available for an overnight stay on Airbnb.

Established in 2013 by Zack Almond as a first-generation family farm. Located on the homeplace of the Almond family, the farm had humble beginnings with four acres.

Since then, it has grown to forty acres, turning a dream into a reality. Just like the farm, the Almond family has grown. Zack married the love of his life Cori in 2019 under the beautiful newly erected barn which would become the future site of many Almond Farm events and private rentals.

The family grew again in 2020 with the birth of Zack and Cori’s adorable twins.

When you visit Almond Farm, you are not just a customer but are treated like family. They take pride in putting the freshest produce straight from their fields to your table. From their vegetables to seasonal fruits, you can trust if they serve it to you, they will serve it to their own family.

At each of their barn wedding venues located in the middle of their cattle farm in Cabarrus County, they have indoor and outdoor spaces that make it flexible for every style of wedding or event in any kind of weather. Their barns are climate controlled and have multiple ceremony locations.

One of their main goals is to have a great relationship with their clients families and make them feel at home. They provide complimentary day of coordination and have on going communication with the couple as they approach their wedding day to make everything run as smoothly as possible.

The Porter Family’s farming operation includes a mix of traditional farming as well as agritourism ventures that have been added over the years as a way to create additional income and allow for members of the family to be able to farm full time.

The 1000 acre family farm has a farrow-to-wean sow farm, pullet houses, layer houses and beef cattle. They also host mud run obstacle course races on the farm. Their newest venture is a greenhouse converted from an existing chicken house, which will also be home to a farm store they plan to have up and running by the end of 2022.

They plan to sell their own pasture raised beef, plants and other value added products.

Patterson Farm

Patterson Farm Market & Tours

Patterson Farm Market and Tours is committed to educating children and adults about their food source, the importance of agriculture and specifically about the crops they grow at Patterson Farm. They provide educational opportunities which are designed to be hands on, fun, and informative.

They are passionate about creating pick your own experiences, seasonal activities and events where families can create memories. Currently, Patterson Farm grows over 200 acres of tomatoes including mature green, vine ripe, grape and roma tomatoes. In addition to growing tomatoes, they grade, pack and ship their tomatoes across the United States and Canada.

Patterson also grows about 80 acres of strawberries each year which are primarily sold at local grocery stores, produce and farmer’s markets, their own roadside satellite locations and market and pick your own strawberry field on Caldwell Road.

Other produce grown includes squash, cucumbers, peppers, cantaloupes and corn.The farm also grows about 150 acres of bell pepper, 50 acres of cucumber, as well as some squash and eggplant as summer crops.

Additionally, they grow about 15,000 poinsettias each year that are available at their greenhouses after Thanksgiving (most are sold to local churches and businesses).
